Warranties

Our Policy
At Scooter Bikes, we are committed to providing quality products and service. All goods sold by us come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and are supported by the requirements of NSW Fair Trading.
This Warranty Policy outlines your rights under the ACL and the conditions under which additional manufacturer warranties may apply.
2. Your Rights Under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL)
Under the ACL, customers are entitled to a remedy if a product fails to meet one or more consumer guarantees, including that the product must:

  • Be of acceptable quality;

  • Match the description or sample;

  • Be fit for its intended purpose;

  • Be free from defects that are not disclosed; and

  • Come with full entitlement to repairs, replacement, or refund in accordance with consumer guarantee requirements.
These consumer guarantees apply regardless of any separate manufacturer warranty.
3. Manufacturer Warranty
Many products sold by Scooter Bikes also include a manufacturer’s warranty. These warranties apply strictly to faults or defects arising from the manufacturing process.
Manufacturer warranties do not apply to:

  • Damage caused during installation, including incorrect or non-compliant installation.

  • Damage resulting from improper handling, misuse, modification, or neglect.

  • Normal wear and tear.

  • Damage occurring during shipping or transit by third-party couriers.

  • Damage caused by failure to follow product instructions or care guidelines.

  • Damage caused by external factors such as electrical surges, water ingress, fire, impact, or environmental exposure.
Where a manufacturer warranty applies, the remedy may include repair, replacement, or return to manufacturer for assessment.
4. Installation & Handling Requirements
Many warranty claims are dependent on correct installation and usage. To ensure eligibility for warranty assessment:

  • Products must be installed by a qualified professional where required.

  • Products must be used for their intended purpose only.

  • Installation documentation, receipts, and photos may be requested as part of the assessment process.
Incorrect installation or handling automatically voids any manufacturer or voluntary warranty.
5. Courier, Transit, or Shipping Damage
Damage occurring during delivery or transit by third-party couriers is not covered under manufacturer warranty or consumer guarantees related to product faults.
If your item arrives damaged:

  • You must notify Scooter Bikes within 5 business days of receiving the product.

  • You may be required to provide photographs and packaging details.

  • We will assist with lodging a claim with the courier or shipping provider.
6. Warranty Claim Process
To lodge a warranty claim, please contact us at:
contact@thescooterbikes.com
Please provide:

  • Proof of purchase;

  • A detailed description of the issue;

  • Photos or videos showing the fault;

  • Installation documentation (if requested).
We may require the product to be returned for inspection. If the fault is confirmed to be a manufacturing defect, we will provide a remedy in line with the ACE and/or manufacturer warranty terms.
7. Exclusions & Limitations
This warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by customers, installers, or third parties.

  • Cosmetic damage that does not affect function.

  • Consumable parts.

  • Products modified or altered after purchase.

  • Faults caused by external environmental or electrical factors.
Nothing in this policy excludes or limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
